A 26-year-old delivery driver for a Chinese food restaurant was fatally shot dead late Sunday afternoon as he made a delivery in a residential neighborhood of New Haven, police said.
Patrol officers found Raviteja Koyyada in the roadway near Shepard and Goodrich streets after getting 911 calls just before 4 p.m., according to New Haven police.
Koyyada had been shot and was unresponsive, and was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives determined that Koyyada’s car had been stolen; it was found parked and empty a short time later, police said.
Police did not say what restaurant Koyyada, a Hamden resident, had worked for.
