William F. Kennedy OBITUARY

William Francis Kennedy (Bill), 96, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025 surrounded by love. Bill was born on October 6, 1928 and spent most of his life living in Suffield, CT. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mariette P. Kennedy in 2018.

William served in the Navy during the Korean War. He served four years active duty followed by four years inactive duty and was Honorably discharged in 1960. After marrying his dear wife Mariette they settled in Suffield and raised their family. He had a long career at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks CT. After retirement he took up walking all around town and enjoyed swimming multiple days a week.

Though he was a man of not many words he was gentle, kind beyond measure, always with a wink and a smile. He was also a man of great faith and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church.

He was a tremendous support to his family and his grandchildren. He was the best ‘Girl Dad’ long before that phrase was even popular. His favorite response when his girls told him they loved him was “I Love You More”. They will forever cherish the time they had with their dad and the memories they hold dear.

Bill leaves behind his three daughters and their husbands, Maureen and Fran Cmara, Colleen and Richard Frost, Doreen and Glynn Arnold, his eight grandchildren and his eleven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters, Catherine Moissonnier and Patricia Plamondon. He was predeceased by his brother Jack Kennedy. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and his dear friend Charles Griger.

The family would like to thank the staff at MeadowBrook of Granby for their loving care.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial in Suffield CT, will be private.
