Police tracked down a stolen Bentley in New York that was taken from a residence in Westport on Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to a residence on a stolen vehicle report just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, according to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police Department.
The complainant told police he pulled into his driveway and went inside as he left his vehicle, a 2020 Bentley, running in the driveway. While inside, the complainant said he watched as unknown suspects stole his car, Woods said.
Officers reportedly observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed but did not pursue it, according to Woods.
Woods said the the vehicle was outfitted with a tracking device and was recovered in Elmhurst, New York by members of the New York Police Department.
The NYPD also reportedly arrested two individuals who were in different stolen vehicles that were traveling with the stolen Bentley, according to Woods,
“Although not confirmed, Westport PD has a working theory that the victim in this case may have been followed due to the value of his vehicle,” Woods said.
“Westport Police continue to implore individuals to lock their cars and homes,” Woods added. “Be cognizant of your surroundings and report any suspicious behavior to Westport Police.”
