A Massachusetts man was killed in Enfield on Monday after he was struck by a large industrial vehicle, police said.
Officers responded to a workplace accident in the area of Lindy Farm and Fletcher Road around 11:18 a.m. on Monday, according to the Enfield Police Department.
Officers learned that a 68-year-old man from Springfield, Massachusetts, was struck by a skid steer that was backing up, police said. He was pronounced dead and has not been identified at this time.
According to police, the man was a worker at the facility, but it was unclear if he was an employee or in a long-term contractor relationship.
The incident does not appear to be criminal in nature, police said.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration responded to the scene to conduct the ongoing investigation along with the Enfield Police Department.
