
Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian in Newtown on Wednesday.
The Newtown Police Department, along with Newtown Hook & Ladder and Newtown Ambulance, responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday on Church Street Road in the area of Conners Road, according to police.
An individual walking eastbound on Church Street Road just east of the railroad bridge overpass said they were struck by a vehicle while walking on the roadway “within the fog line,” police said.
EMS evaluated the pedestrian who declined transport to an area hospital via ambulance, according to police.
It was reported that an older white or gray SUV-type vehicle was traveling eastbound on Church Hill Road when the passenger side of the car struck the pedestrian on their left side, police said.
