John F. Corraccio OBITUARY

John F. Corraccio, 59, of Wethersfield CT, beloved husband of 33 years to Gina (Dickey) Corraccio passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025. John was born on July 26, 1965 in Hartford Hospital to the late Anthony and Carmella Corraccio. John learned his trade from his father who was the best in the industry. John worked as a mechanical engineer for his father who taught and provided him a career that led to his success and respect from all. John worked at several molding companies over his career. He recently was employed at Burtek LLC, as a Project Manager. He had several people he admired in this industry but especially Steve Gismandi, his confidant, his sounding board, but most of all one of his admired friends. John’s favorite hobbies were making sure his lawn was perfect, his pool skimmers didn’t have a leaf in them but most of all being home hanging out with his family and dogs. He met his wife Gina in 1986 and they were married on June 26,1992, they had two amazing children: John-Albert and Anthony Corraccio. John leaves behind many cherished memories for his boys including throwing baseballs back and forth, playing basketball in the driveway, practicing football drills or picking up a new sport just so they can be the best athlete on any field. John leaves behind his mother and father in law Albert and Regina Seeley. John loved them both with all his heart and found a true brother and best friend when Al came into his life. John most looked forward to hanging out with his in-laws making fun of Regina and “always” watching Al do little jobs around our home. John valued Regina most for her always forgiving heart, always keeping his faith strong and a good laugh. John is survived by his two sisters Lynn Decker of Rocky HiIl, Sheila Gilbert and husband David of Rocky Hill, and his late sister Gina Fitzsimmons and husband Mike Fitzsimmons. He is also survived by his special nieces and nephews, Courtney Decker, Camille (Gilbert) Carney, Anthony Gilbert, Micheal Fitzsimmons, Stephen Fitzsimmons, and Gabriella Fitzsimmons. John had a special place in his heart for all his nieces and nephews. John had many friends in the community but especially a brother/sister relationship with Richie and Laura Palermino who lived across the street from him in his childhood years. He was blessed recently to reconnect with Jeff Pitchell, Gina Bielenda, and Fran Mazzarella, we are especially thankful to Jeff for bringing long time friends to John’s bedside to reunite and show such love. Services will be held at Church of the Incarnation on 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield, CT 06109 on Thursday January 16, 2025 at 10am to be followed by a Christian Burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford CT. In place of flowers we are asking for all donations to go to Spirit Builders, this is a volunteer organization that builds ramps for families in need at no cost. The Corraccio Family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all who have reached out. They would also like to thank Gina’s work family, Masters In Home Care for the donations, support, and compassion over the last year. Thank you to Smilow Cancer Center at Yale NHH. We would like to specifically recognize John’s neurosurgeon Jennifer Moliterno, MD and neuro-oncologist Mary M. Barden, MD. Special thanks to our friend Finn, PT at Gaylord Hospital.
