John “Jack” M. Ramezzana OBITUARY

John “Jack” M. Ramezzana, 64, of West Hartford, beloved husband of seven years to Christine Cattel-Ramezzana, died suddenly on Friday, January 3, 2025 doing one of the things he loved best, working in his business.

Born in Hartford, son of the late John J. and Mary Lorraine Ramezzana, Jack was a resident of West Hartford most of his life and was a graduate of Conard High School, Class of 1979.

After graduation Jack joined the family landscaping business, John J. Ramezzana and Son. When Jack’s father passed away, he took over the business and changed the name to John Ramezzana Lawncare. He had a passion for the business and loved being outdoors. Even though he wasn’t crazy about the snow, he did love when his sister, nephews and even his wife joined him on the jobs. In recent years, he spent countless hours with his nephew Christopher, who grew to become his wingman. He recently bought his wife a little “purple” backpack to take on the jobs because she wanted to go out with him more.

Jack enjoyed fishing. He especially enjoyed the fishing trips to Vermont with his father, mother, Uncle Ray and his cousins. He loved bowling and golfing with his family and friends. He was over the moon when he became the first Elf Bowl Champion. Jack’s latest past time was the introduction to Lawn Bowling, which he enjoyed immensely with his wife and the friends who introduced him to it. He enjoyed traveling with wife, his sister and her family to visit his cousins, Nancy, Marty and Gabi and their families, in Vermont and Jackson Hole. He especially enjoyed attending his aunt’s 100th Birthday. One of Jack’s favorite trips was with his wife to Jackson Hole, WY, where they attended his second cousins wedding. On the way to the wedding they stopped in Texas, a place Jack always wanted to visit. He loved traveling with his “Sweetie” on their anniversaries, as each trip they considered another honeymoon. He always looked forward to the trips.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Christine. Anyone who knows Jack and Christine has heard them call each other “My Sweetie”. He is also survived by his loving sister, Linda R. Buslewicz and her husband Anthony M.; his brothers-in-law and spouses, Charles Jr. (Mitzy), Robert (Vikki), Mark (Lauren); his nephews, Christopher Michael Buslewicz and Edward John (Marguerita) Buslewicz, Mike (Missy), Jennifer (Tony), Matt (Jaime), Adam (Jaime), Marissa, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. The recent addition to the family was his great nephew, Dante Kane. Jack was so proud and beamed when he got to hold him for the first time.

John was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James and Alice Given; his paternal grandparents, Lorenzo and Katherine Ramezzana; his parents-in-law, Charles and Barbara Cattel; his uncle Raymond Ramezzana; and his aunt Mary Martino.
