Susan Emmons Gagnon OBITUARY

Susan (Laurito) Emmons Gagnon, daughter of the late Gennaro and Santina (Viola) Laurito, died on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in Naples, Florida. She was born November 10, 1958 in Hartford, Connecticut. Susan was a graduate of Rocky Hill High School.

Susan was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Emmons. She was a loving wife to Mario Gagnon for the past 27 years and a loving mother to their children, Wendi (Erick) Velasco, Ryan Gagnon, and Amy (Scott) Donnelly. Susan also leaves her grandchildren, Chelsea (Dominic) Bazzolo, Shane (Dysteny) Gagnon, Brianna, Audrianna and Cooper Donnelly and great grandchildren Dominick, Isabelle, and Odin.

Susan also leaves her siblings to mourn her: Joseph (Patricia) Laurito, Lisa (Mark) Sanderson; Lucy (James) Brakoniecki, Richard (Carolyn) Reno, Geraldine Jacobson and Susan’s twin, Linda Alexander as well as many nieces, nephews and their children. Susan also leaves both life-long and new friends in both Connecticut and Florida.

Susan worked in hospitality for her entire life and she was a bright light in the lives of members and staff of clubs and restaurants in the greater Hartford area. But her passions were truly gardening and cooking; her hands were her instruments. She was an excellent baker and cook, and loved to try out new recipes on her husband and family. Susan was well-known for her Italian cookies and new dinner creations, but her gardens were where Susan shined. She was intrepid – turning their backyard into a delight, filled with color and shape and form. They mirrored her joyfulness.

She was full of fun and life, and was taken from us all too soon. Susan’s life will be celebrated in the spring 2025 at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.
