Claudia Marie (Turco) Storm OBITUARY
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Claudia Marie (Turco) Storm, 71, of West Hartford, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend to so many. Claudia passed away on December 30, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and remarkable accomplishments.
Claudia was a proud graduate of Northwest Catholic High School and Georgetown University. She began her professional life with a promising career in financial services, before transitioning to being a full-time mom and community leader in her hometown of West Hartford.
For the last 15 years, she excelled at Pottery Barn, where she consistently garnered recognition as a top sales representative and interior designer locally, regionally, and nationally. Her generosity, selflessness, and positive influence on those around her were apparent in all facets of her life, including when she served as PTO president of Duffy, Sedgwick, and Conard; taught CCD at St. Helena; and was named Citizen of the Year by the West Hartford Public Schools.
Claudia married Larry Storm in 1982, beginning a partnership that would last almost 43 years and grow into a beautiful family. Together, they raised four children: Dave (wife, Sarah Storm), Mike (wife, Alix Arnaud), Anna (husband, Reed Choinski), and Matt. Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren, Tyler, Jack, and Max, who adored their “Nonni.” Additionally, she is survived by her two brothers, Vincent Jr. (wife, Sandra Turco) and Paul Turco (wife, Helen Rubino-Turco). She was predeceased by her loving parents, Dr. Vincent and Gloria Turco, whom she honored and admired throughout her life.
To those who knew her, Claudia was a woman of immense warmth, boundless energy, and unwavering kindness. She inspired everyone she met, leaving an indelible impression with her charm, thoughtfulness, and fierce dedication to her family and community.
In the words of her children, “To say we looked up to our mom would be a massive understatement. Our interactions with the world are shaped by the way we saw her interact with others—with grace, love, and an infectious spirit. She truly was the best of us.”
Claudia’s final days were filled with warmth, laughter, and meaningful moments, surrounded by those she loved the most. She took great pride in her children’s achievements and saw in them the reflection of her own strength and values. Her love was unrelenting, her guidance invaluable, and her legacy immeasurable.
