Jan’s journey through life was one of boundless love and dedication to her family. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jan was predeceased by her parents, her siblings, her first husband Arthur Healy, her beloved son Michael Cannon, and her devoted husband William Cannon. Her legacy of love continues through her surviving family: her children, Colleen Cannon, Brian Cannon and his wife Kyle (Phelps), John Cannon and his wife Debra (Litrenta), and Richard Cannon and his wife Gail (Greenspan); she was “Nana” to her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sarah, Lisa, Kelly, Kaleigh, Jake and Jenna, and her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Caitlin, Marston, and Myra.
Professionally, Jan worked for the Aetna and later for the Hartford Federation of Teachers. She was an avid bowler and bowled with the Hartford teachers for many years.
She loved travelling, visiting most European countries, as well as Russia, Egypt, Morocco, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading the news and playing games on her iPad.
A fervent sports enthusiast, Jan’s loyalty to her teams was unwavering. She loved the Red Sox, Patriots, and all UConn sports teams.
Most of all, Jan loved her family. She spent many years chauffeuring and cheering her children on in their sports and activities. She was the ultimate “hockey mom”.
