Godwin Nwankpah OBITUARY

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Godwin Ochorwhukwu Nwankpah on December 7, 2024, at the age of 90. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, church elder, and community leader, he leaves behind a legacy of faith, education, and service.

Born on May 15, 1934, in Nigeria, Mr. Nwankpah was a natural leader and accomplished scholar. He graduated from the Adventist College of West Africa before earning a BS and MBA from Andrews University. His career included roles as a missionary, business leader, and Chief Management and Budget Analyst for Hartford, Connecticut. He also served as an elder and treasurer at Connecticut Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church.

In 1971, he married Rhoda Nwankpah, with whom he raised four children. He is survived by Attorney Emeka Nwankpah (Margarett) and their two sons, Egwu Nwankpah, CPA (Saba) and their four children, and Dr. Amarachi Nwankpah. He is fondly remembered alongside his late son, Chijioke Obinna Nwankpah.

Mr. Nwankpah also leaves his extended family, including his brothers David (New York) and Joseph (New Jersey), cousin Elder Josiah Nwogwugwu (Illinois), nephew Ikenna James Nwankpah (Texas), and in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Fyne A. Obiocha.

A memorial service will be held on January 12, 2025, at Emmanuel Brinklow Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ashton, Maryland.

May his legacy of faith and love continue to inspire all who knew him.
