Gertrude (Dalton) Carola OBITUARY

Gertrude (Dalton) Carola, 91, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 17, 2025. She was born in Scranton, PA on November 11, 1933, daughter of the late Stanley and Monica (Kavalenos) Dalton and lived in Rocky Hill for the past 69 years. She was a member of Saint James Church. She worked for several years at Royal Typewriter; Arrow-Hart & Hegeman and David A. Rosow, Inc. She devoted her life to her family and was always there to lend a helping hand no matter what time of day or the task at hand. Gertrude was “Nanny” to her two grandchildren, and she was most happy when seeing or talking about her grandchildren especially Deanna with whom she shared a special relationship. She will be greatly missed by her children, Nicholas and wife Kim of Cromwell and Timothy and Michele of Cromwell; two grandchildren Deanna Carola and Nicholas A. Carola III.

In addition to her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Nicholas Carola whom she dearly missed; sister Evelyn Hendricks, and the “Carola family” who she was very close with; Samuel Carola and his wife Nicolina, Joseph Carola and his wife Alice, and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carmella Uccello and her husband Sebastian, Marie Cappetta and husband Nicholas and Josephine D’Aloisio and her husband Carl. Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 from 9:30am to10:30am at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am at Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish at Saint James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill followed by the burial at Center Cemetery in the town of Rocky Hill.
