Winter “Nikki” Lamar OBITUARY

Winter “Nikki” Lamar, 70, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Pensacola, FL, on October 29, 1954, son of the late Clarence and Minnie (Thames) Lamar, she was raised in Hartford and attended Hartford Public Schools. Winter worked as a beautician and hairdresser at many salons in Hartford for over 50 years. She was well known for her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to know exactly what would look best. She routinely did hair for proms, weddings, graduations, and other important life events and cared for many clients for generations. She leaves to mourn her passing, three sisters, Susie Johnson of Hartford, Gaye Hunt of Georgia, and Delores “Betty” Williams of White Plains, MD; her best friend of many years, George Garnes of Wethersfield; 21 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives, friends, and devoted clients. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Willie Clarence Lamar; two sisters, Mildred Davis and Gladys Lanier; and three nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends on Friday, January 24, 10-11 a.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 11 a.m., in the chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery Mausoleum in Bloomfield. Carmon Windsor Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
