After raising her children and being a homemaker, Beverly went back to work for the Simsbury Public Schools for 20 years until her retirement in 2005. She was active throughout her life including playing basketball at Hartford Public High School in the early 1950s. She had a passion for tennis and swimming. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and ceramics. In 1957, Bev and Ev honeymooned on Cape Cod. They fell in love with the Cape and in 1984 fulfilled a lifelong dream of obtaining a second home in East Dennis where she enjoyed spending as much time as she could. She treasured long days on the beach sunbathing, walking, swimming, and searching for sea glass. She could be found hunting for bargains at tag sales and was a longtime patron of the Cape Playhouse. Bev was a faithful parishioner of St. Bernard’s Church. She was a strong, loving woman, who will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Thank you to Yolande Holness and Anesha Fowler, who with loving kindness and dignity, cared for Beverly in her final months along with the supportive and helpful staff of the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Litchfield.
