Polly Ann Streich OBITUARY

Polly Ann Streich OBITUARY

Polly Ann Streich, 72, of Unionville passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving partner Brian Loughlin and her family. Born September 19, 1952, in Burlington, WI, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William H. and Nancyann E. (Hufnagel) Streich. Polly attended Muskego High School, graduated from Farmington High School and attended Central Connecticut State University. Prior to retiring, she was employed by UPS in business development for 26 years.

Polly was known for her fun-loving nature, infectious laugh and zest for life. She lit up any room she entered. Her vast knowledge of sports was apparent stemming from her earlier years when she was a cheerleader, field hockey player and one of the first coaches of Northwest Catholic High Schools girls’ basketball team. Her enthusiasm and support of the Green Bay Packers was unsurpassed, being born in Wisconsin. Any given day she could be found watching sports or listening on the radio. She was an avid UCONN Husky fan as well. Disney was her “happy place” and she traveled there often. She also enjoyed her trips with Brian to Fife and Drum Competitions across the country. Like her dad she had a passion for reading and supported the public libraries. Her best days were when she was at the beach reading a good book or two.

Polly’s priority was always her family. She loved taking care of her nieces and nephews and was always there for them. She was the “fun aunt” and they always knew there would be an adventure in store for them. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She was the official “bingo caller: at our Thanksgiving gatherings and “a good time was had by all”. Her humor was beyond funny and guided her through life. Polly’s siblings meant the world to her. She stayed connected to each of them near and far. Her love and generosity shined through each and every day.

In addition to Brian, Polly is survived by her siblings, Jill Della Lombardi (Gregg) of Unionville; William Buck Streich (Connie) of Castle Pines, CO; Peggy Lee Streich of Alpharetta, GA; and Jack Michael Streich of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, her nieces and nephews, Corey Lombardi (Ali); Caitlin Streich; Casey Lombardi (Tammy); Hannah Krahn (Joe); Cody Lombardi (Emily); Christopher Blauvelt Jr. (Mary); Cameron Streich; Cally Zarzecki (Tomasz); Catherine Streich; William H. Streich; one great-nephew, William Lombardi; and one great-niece, Della Rae Lombardi.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her memory can be made to: “Dr. William H. Streich Memorial Funds” attention Dawn Driggs, Farmington Public Schools, 1 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032.
