Myrtle P. Jandreau OBITUARY

Myrtle P. (Mayo) Jandreau, 93 of Plainville, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, joining her late husband, Clifford “Albert” Jandreau, in eternal peace.

Affectionately known as “Babe”, she was born in Fort Kent, Maine, on September 6, 1931, daughter of the late Wilbur and Clara (Morrison) Mayo, and was raised in St. Francis where she met Albert. They settled in Connecticut shortly after their marriage.

Throughout her 93 years, she was celebrated for her kindness, compassion, and steadfast love for all creatures, earning her the self-described title of “cat lady”, and establishing a special bond with nature and the wildlife around her. Myrtle was a devoted member and volunteer at Faith Bible Church, where she found her second family. Her presence enriched the lives of many, and she was deeply loved by her Pastor, Reverend Dr. Jim Caron and his wife, Cheryl, whose support and love illuminated her path. Babe’s legacy of kindness and her deep passion for all living things will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Holly and her family along with many nieces, nephews and friends she considered family. She was predeceased by her infant sister, Annie Gene Mayo and her brother, Kenneth Mayo.

A celebration of Babe’s life will be held on Friday January 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Bible Church, 168 Unionville Ave, Plainville. She may be remembered with contributions to her church, or to an organization benefitting animals. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.PlainvilleFuneralHome.com
